Silver Creek’s Hebble, Jeff doubles on second team

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Floyd Central’s Olivia Boesing and the Highlanders doubles team of Whitney Batliner and Dana Frank were named first team All-State on Thursday.

Boesing was one of 15 singles players named to the first team, including state champion Jackie Kawamoto of Greenwood and team state champion Bailey Padgett of Carmel. It was the fourth straight year that Boesing, who went 26-3 as a senior, was named to the first team.

Batliner and Frank, who made the doubles state quarterfinals, were one of 10 doubles teams honored. The Highlander duo went 28-2 and won 20 in a row until its state finals loss to the Fort Wayne Dwenger team of Audrey Rang and Elizabeth Maxson, who finished state runner-up for the second straight year.

Silver Creek junior Kat Hebble was selected for the singles’ second team.

Jeffersonville’s No. 1 doubles team of Emily Lewis and Julianna Jenks was also named to the second team. The duo became the fifth and six Red Devils to make the All-State team by going 19-4.
