NEW ALBANY —
The New Albany volleyball team bounced back from going 0-3 at last weekend’s Bedford North Lawrence Invitational by defeating Jeffersonville on Tuesday night at The Doghouse, 25-11, 25-11, 25-16.
Bulldog juniors Brook McCoy and Audrey Donastorg each had a double-double, as each player recorded 16 digs and 10 kills. Donastorg also made four service aces.
New Albany setters Sadie Meyer and Lindsey Harper dished out 17 and 13 assists, respectively. Also for the Bulldogs, Madison Dibble had 11 digs, Alexis Lete made six kills and two aces, Kelsey Guess spiked six kills and Madison Almon had six digs.
“We played really well tonight,” New Albany coach John Breeding said. “We had a rough weekend, but the girls responded really well. Alexis Lete and Kelsey Guess blocked really well tonight. It was a real good team effort.”
For the Red Devils, Bayley Whitlow made 13 digs, Jena Reinhardt had nine digs and Shelby Moore spiked three kills.
“Sara Garwood hustled and had a great defensive game,” Jeff coach Renee Stock said. “New Albany is a great squad. They are big and strong on the net. My girls hung with them the first seven to eight points and then we gave up.”
