Dragons, Highlanders with 30th sectional titles

New Albany wins 10th straight, 25th overall

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — NEW ALBANY SECTIONAL

Like Floyd Central, New Albany won its sectional championship without dropping a set.

The Bulldogs doubles teams won easily, with Nick White and Zach Daniel winning at No. 2 doubles without dropping a game. Jake Kennard and Tanner Goller won at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-2.

Freshman Logan Charbonneau earned a 6-0, 6-4 win over Lanesville’s Zach Robinson 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Alec Bates knocked off Matt Husband 6-1, 6-2 and Nathan Johnson won 6-2, 6-3 against Jon Farreee at No. 3 singles.

New Albany will face rival Floyd Central in Tuesday’s Floyd Central Regional semifinals. Tuesday’s other semifinal will pit Silver Creek against No. 12 Jeffersonville. The championship match will be Wednesday.
