Pirates outscore Braves 20-10 in second half



• Mustangs win at Austin:
New Washington improved to 3-0 with a 25-14, 25-23, 25-18 on Thursday at Austin.

Caroline Ricks led the Mustangs with 15 kills and nine digs. Also for New Washington, the senior had eight blocks and five aces. Mustang setter Courtney Amick dished out 18 assists.

NEXT: New Washington (3-0) at Madison Invitational, today.


• Fink leads Borden past Crawford:
Borden’s Tina Fink shot a meet-best 46 at Lucas Oil Golf Course in English on Thursday as the Braves defeated host Crawford County 217-225.

Sarah Potter added a 46, Sarah Potter shot a 55, Lexi Marsh a 56, Mackenzie Smith 60 and Cassidy Rife 68 for Borden at the par-36 course.
