• Mustangs third, Hornets fourth at Austin:
New Washington finished third and Henryville fourth at a four-way meet at Austin on Monday.

New Wash’s Ian Hughes was the meet’s top point earner with victories in the 200-meter dash, the 400 and the high jump. Henryville’s Jacob Hedrick claimed victories in the 800 and 1,600 and Alex White won the shot put for the Hornets.

In the girls’ race, Megan O’Lone and Sadie Spears each won two events. O’Lone won the 400 and the 800, while Spears took the 1,600 and the 3,200. The duo also helped the Hornets win the 3,200 relay. Natalie Uhl won the discus with a throw of 105 feet, 3 inches and Lesha Dallas was victorious in the shot put in 32-1 for Henryville.

NEXT: New Washington at Faulkner Relays at Clarksville, Thursday.

• Braves sweep West Washington: Both Borden teams topped the century mark in wins over West Washington on Monday.

Leslie Beatty won the 400 and 800 for the Borden girls, who defeated the Senators 109-45.

The Braves’ boys, who won 108-14, finished first in 14 of the 15 events. For Borden, Brady Knight swept the sprinting events and also took the long jump victory, Brett Williams took both throwing events and Brian Eurton won both distance events.
