BOYS' BASKETBALL: Two Bulldogs, two Devils earn All-HHC

NEW ALBANY — Two players from New Albany and two from Jeffersonville were named to the 11-player All-Hoosier Hills Conference boys’ basketball team, which was released on Tuesday.

Leondre McBirth and Javen Reeves, who helped lead New Albany to a sectional champion and to within seconds of a regional title, were the Bulldogs honored. Seniors Drew Ellis and Keenan Williams were Jeffersonville’s representatives on the first team.

The foursome was joined by Jennings County’s Brad Hunt and Adrian Kirchner, Columbus East’s Bryce Leinhoop and Connor Umphress, Maidson Nick Macon and Landon Perry and Blaze Byrer of Bedford North Lawrence.

Hoosier Hills Conference champion New Albany also had pair of honorable mention players in Jeff Byrne and DeAnthony Warren. Jeff’s Demarre Sims was also honorable mention.

New Albany coach Jim Shannon was named Coach of the Year.
