Highlander baseball team pulls dramatic comeback at St. X



• Red Devils sweep meets versus New Albany:
Host Jeffersonville defeated New Albany in the girls’ meet (70-62) and the boys’ meet (72-56) on Tuesday.

Nycia Ford paced the Red Devil girls by winning the shot put, discus and the 100-meter hurdles. Teammate Chelsea Lewis won the 100 and 200.

In the boys’ meet, New Albany’s Drew Hirsch took first in three events — the 800, 1,600 and 3,200.

NEXT: Jeff at Louisville Eastern Relays, Friday and Saturday; New Albany girls at Seymour, Thursday; New Albany boys will host Jennings County and Madison, next Tuesday.

• Hedrick leads Hornets to win: Jacob Hedrick won three events — 800, 1,600 and 3,200 — to lead host Henryville to a quadrangular-meet win on Tuesday against Madison Shawe, Southwestern and Rock Creek. Teammate Alex White won the shot put and discus.

NEXT: Henryville will host Borden and New Washington, Thursday; Rock Creek with Trinity Lutheran at Crothersville, Thursday.

• Mustangs lose at South Central: Adan Diaz won the 300 hurdles and 1,600 as visiting New Washington lost a dual meet at South Central on Tuesday.

NEXT: New Washington with Borden at Henryville, Thursday.
