> SOUTHERN INDIANA —
Silver Creek exploded for 14 runs in just four innings at the plate to down Clarksville 14-0 on Thursday.
The Dragons gave pitcher Cameron Cook plenty of run support. Cook tossed three shutout innings before handing the ball to Drew Sherrow for the save. Cook was dominant over his three frames and allowed just one hit while striking out four.
Offensively Silver Creek was paced by Braydon Ware. Ware went 2-for-2 with a homerun and three runs scored while driving in two. Cody Razer was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. He also scored two runs and drove in one. Brahm Whittinghill, Shae Durham, and Brooks Howell all also had doubles for the Dragons.
“Our kids relaxed and had some good at-bats tonight,” said Silver Creek assistant coach Scott Jennings. “We had 20 quality at-bats out of 24 appearances.”
Silver Creek now moves to 2-2 on the season and is 1-0 in Mid-Southern Conference play. The Dragons will travel to play at Southwestern today, while Clarksville hosts Borden in a doubleheader Saturday.
