Lieberman steps down as FCHS boys' basketball coach

Former U of L assistant coached at the school for just one season

FLOYDS KNOBS — Mark Lieberman has tendered his resignation as Floyd Central High School’s boys basketball coach.

Bill Briscoe, assistant superintendent of the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation, said the district received a letter from Lieberman saying he would step down from his coaching duties.

The district’s board of trustees has not issued a final vote on Lieberman, but the personnel agenda for the board’s next meeting April 14 is likely to include it.

Lieberman, a former University of Louisville assistant basketball coach, was hired by the board last summer. The team concluded last season — Lieberman’s first as coach — with a 5-18 record.
