USI's Guy earns weekly honor

• Johnnie Guy (Southern Indiana men’s cross country, North Harrison graduate, So.) — top performance: third overall and first in the Non-Division I class in the men’s gold race at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park, 24:23.77.

BORDEN

• Brian Eurton (St. Joseph’s men’s cross country, Fr.) — notes: 29th at the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville John Flamer Invitational on Saturday, 27:37.17.

CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

• Rachel Boesing (Asbury volleyball, Fr.) — weekly stats: 12 blocks, nine kills, three digs, two assists; notes: match-high five blocks and five kills in the Eagles’ 3-1 home loss last Tuesday against IU Southeast; team records: 18-7 overall, 6-1 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

• Drew Mattingly (Huntington men’s soccer, Sr.) — weekly stats: 15 saves, one goal against; top performance: eight saves and one goal against in the Foresters’ 2-1 overtime victory at Marian on Saturday; team records: 6-5-2 overall, 2-1-2 Crossroads League.

• Brad Baumann (Hanover men’s golf, Sr.) — notes: 25th at the Wabash Fall Golf Classic this weekend with a two-round score of 155, 15-over-par (78 in the first round, 77 in the final).

• Kyle Bramble (Dartmouth football, So.) — notes: three rushes for 19 yards and four kickoff returns for 65 yards in the Big Green’s 37-31 loss in four overtimes at Penn; team records: 1-2 overall, 0-1 Ivy League.

• Rebekah Burgan (Parkland women’s soccer, Fr.) — notes: Burgan played as a defender in the Cobras’ 13-0 home victory over Southwestern Illinois last Wednesday and their 1-0 loss to Schoolcraft on Saturday; team record: 9-4.
