GREG'S PICKS: Dragons improving at right time

Silver Creek faces tough upcoming games against NA, Providence

BOYS — Silver Creek at New Albany

• Time: 7:30 p.m.

• Records: Silver Creek 3-9, New Albany 6-5.

• Last year: New Albany 53, at Silver Creek 50.

• Last 15 years: New Albany 14-1.

• Analysis: Silver Creek is playing better but probably not well enough to beat the Bulldogs in The Doghouse.

• Greg’s Pick: New Albany 65, Silver Creek 45.

BOYS — Borden at Christian Academy

• Time: 7:30 p.m.

• Records: Borden 9-2, Christian Academy 5-6.

• Rankings: Borden — Class A No. 7.

• Last year: At Borden 65, Christian Academy 45.

• Last 15 years: Borden 12-7.

• Analysis: I went back and forth on who to take in this one. Borden has struggled to score of late. CAI doesn’t have that problem. The Warriors have the home-court advantage, but the Braves have the experience advantage. In the end, Borden’s defense may carry the day.

• Greg’s Pick: Borden 64, Christian Academy 62.

BOYS — Eastern at Charlestown

• Time: 7:30 p.m.

• Records: Eastern 4-7 (2-3 Mid-Southern Conference); Charlestown 6-4 (2-1 MSC).

• Last year: At Eastern 56, Charlestown 42.

• Last 15 years: Eastern 8-4.

• Analysis: Eastern is better than its record, but again, I like Chris Braun and Aaron Daniel down the stretch in close games.

• Greg’s Pick: Charlestown 59, Eastern 58.

BOYS — Floyd Central at Jennings County

• Time: 7:30 p.m.

• Records: Floyd Central 3-10 (0-3 HHC); Jennings County 9-5 (3-0 HHC).

• Last year: At Floyd Central 37, Jennings County 38.

• Last 15 years: Jennings County 10-9.

• Analysis: The Highlander offense seemed to gain a little traction in Saturday’s win over North Harrison, but it points may be tough to come back against a Jennings team that allows only 55 points per game.

• Greg’s Pick: Jennings County 55, Floyd Central 38.

BOYS — Scottsburg at Clarksville

• Time: 7:30 p.m.

• Records: Scottsburg 3-9 (2-5 MSC); Clarksville 9-3 (5-0 MSC).

• Rankings: Clarksville — Class 2A No. 7.

• Last year: Clarksville 61, at Scottsburg 56.

• Last 15 years: Scottsburg 13-2.

• Analysis: Clarksville’s not exactly playing its best basketball right now, but it won’t matter at home against a Scottsburg team that is having trouble beating anyone, much less a ranked team.

• Greg’s Pick: Clarksville 68, Scottsburg 53.
