Narcotics officers with Jeffersonville police arrested two Louisville women Monday following a drug deal in the parking lot of a Jeffersonville business, police reported.
The Jeffersonville Police Department Drug Investigation Unit reported the arrests of Lashelle J. Johnson, 44, and Angeline B. Sloan, 45.
Johnson was preliminarily charged with dealing in heroin, possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance.
Police reported that after Johnson was placed in custody, an additional amount of heroin, as well as crack cocaine, was found in her possession.
Approximately 3.5 grams of heroin and crack cocaine were seized from Johnson, police reported.
Police also found Johnson in possession of approximately $1,500 cash that officers believe to be proceeds from dealing narcotics.
Sloan was preliminarily charged with resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance.
Jeffersonville police officials did not respond to repeated attempts made by News and Tribune staff to inquire at which Jeffersonville business the drug transactions occurred or to discuss other circumstances of the arrests.
