SELLERSBURG

Sellersburg issues boil water advisory  

The boil-water advisory issued Thursday, Dec. 8, is for all of the residents of the Hill n Dale subdivision and residents on St. Joe Road East serviced by Sellersburg Water.

The advisory is in effect until Monday, Dec. 12, according to the town’s website.

SOUTHERN INDIANA

Meet and greet elected officials

South Central Indiana League of Women Voters will be holding a holiday Meet ‘N Greet featuring elected officials from Clark and Floyd counties from 6 to 8 p.m., Dec. 20, at Indiana University Southeast in University Center room 127.

Citizens are invited to meet their new representatives and get to know the office’s responsibilities, and also become familiar with their new League of Women Voters local unit.

NEW ALBANY

NAHS hosting Madrigal Feaste

New Albany High School’s Madrigal Feaste is scheduled for this weekend, Dec. 10 and 11. The arrival and seating of guests is 7 to 7:25 p.m. and processional of Royale Court is at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and must be reserved in advance. No walk-ins can be accepted due to limited seating. Seating will be assigned in the order that reservations arrive. For reservations call 502-608-1552.

‘Not-So-Silent’ pageant Sunday

The “Not-So-Silent” children’s Christmas pageant will be at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 11, during the morning worship service at First Church of God, 2248 Charlestown Road, New Albany.

Come and see if the shepherds will get exonerated for making too much noise the night Jesus was born.

Padgett Museum open house set

The annual Christmas open house at the Padgett Museum is set for Saturday, Dec. 10, in New Albany.

The museum, located at 509 W. Market St., features several exhibits detailing Floyd County’s history including a section dedicated to local involvement in the Civil War.

The Floyd County Historical Society is sponsoring the open house, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

JEFFERSONVILLE

Holiday open house at Northaven Elementary

Northaven Elementary will host a holiday open house for parents and students from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Northaven Elementary classrooms will be open for parents to visit with their child’s teacher and view student work.

Northaven Elementary’s Parent/Teacher Organization will host a chili supper and “Santa’s Secret Shop” to coincide with the open house. Both will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Santa Claus will also be on hand to visit with all the families.

Northaven Elementary families are invited and encouraged to attend. Northaven Elementary is located at 1907 Oak Ridge Dr., Jeffersonville.

Holiday Heroes blood drive Saturday

The Clark County Holiday Heroes blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at St. Augustine Church in Jeffersonville.

Library putting on holiday event

The Jeffersonville Township Public Library will host a special Christmas event beginning at 11 a.m., Dec. 17, at the library, 211 E. Court Ave., Jeffersonville.

The library will offer a family holiday craft walk beginning at 11 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Make a snowman mobile, peace dove paper ornament Santa advent calendar or winter snow globe. There will be a small fee for the winter snow globe craft.

The Silvertoners perform from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. At this holiday concert, they will sing a medley of their favorite Christmas songs and they will take requests from the audience.

The J.T.P.L. Youth Advisers will present a puppet show called “The Shoemaker and the Elves.” This is a puppet tale for the season of giving. The show is adapted for a modern audience from the classic tale by the Brothers Grimm. Show times are 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Santa will arrive at the library at 3:15 p.m. to read one of his favorite stories.

UTICA

Elementary students hosting winter program

Utica Elementary will host a winter program for parents and students at 1:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Second grade students will perform “A Holiday Moosical” by John Jacobson and John Higgins. Fourth and fifth grade choir members will perform a selection of holiday songs prior to the start of the program.

Utica Elementary families are invited and encouraged to attend. Utica Elementary is located at 210 Maplehurst Dr. in Jeffersonville.
