Fred L. Juliot; 80, Korean War Army veteran and former NAFD Captain
Funeral services for Fred L. Juliot, 80, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 29, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. He died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Autumn Woods Health Campus, New Albany.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. In 1976, he retired in the rank as captain from the New Albany Fire Department following 20 years of service. He was also employed at the New Albany Concrete Company. He was a member of several service organizations including American Legion Post 28, VFW Post 3281, where he was an honor guard volunteer, Redmen Club, and 40 & 8. He was born Jan. 22, 1929, to the late Fred and Esther Nichols Juliot in New Albany. He was a lover of animals, especially dogs.
The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Woods Skilled Care Unit for the excellent and loving care given to him.
Survivors include his brothers, Earl “Ed” Juliot and his wife, Wanda, of Floyd Knobs and Jerry Juliot and his wife, Jo, of Jeffersonville; sister, Mildred Bogstad, of Clarksville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, and sisters, Homer, Lawrence, George, Paul, Robert, Rosalee LaDuke Clifford, and Elsie Swartz; and his wives, Emma Jean Mathers Juliot, and Phyllis Rawlings Juliot.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, and after 9 a.m. Monday.
The family requests that expresssions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Floyd County Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
