Theodore W. Hobbs Jr., 80; of New Albany
Funeral services for Theodore W. Hobbs Jr., 80, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Grace Lutheran Church, 1787 Klerner Lane, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of Louisville, retired in 1984 from Interstate Motor Freight Company and was a security guard at Humana after his retirement. He was married to the former Dolores I. Smyser and was a former member of the Floyd County Police Merit Board. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, New Albany.
Survivors include is wife of 50 years, Dolores I. Hobbs; children, Diane Y. Mask, Jeffersonville, Maria E. Hobbs, Rio Grande, N.J., Denise L. Scrivner and husband, Jonathan, New Albany and Dion Hobbs and wife, Joy, Southfield, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nora M. Sounders and Essie E. Dickerson, both of Louisville; and a brother, Darl R. Hobbs, Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore W. Hobbs Sr., his mother, Ethel B. Bowman, a brother, George Hobbs and a sister, Dorothy Summers.
Visitation at Kraft Funeral Services, Charlestown Road Chapel, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10 and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
