63; Harvest Homecoming president and chairman of the board

Funeral Mass for Michael Leon Eberle, 63, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 13, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 3033 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs. He died on, July 9, 2009, at his home with his family around him.

He was an employee of Absolute Networking Systems in Louisville. He served as president and chairman of the board for the Harvest Homecoming Festival, being a member since 1987. He helped form the old Hoosier Four Wheelers Club and served as president. He was an avid four wheeler, traveling to Colorado many times to Jeep in the mountains.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carol Zahn Eberle; daughter, Dana Eberle-Dethy, of Floyds Knobs; son, Douglas and his wife, Amy Tarter Eberle, of Floyds Knobs; beloved grandsons, Grant and Aidan Dethy and Samuel and Maxwell Eberle; sister, Rachel Eberle Ambrose and her husband, George, of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; brothers, Joseph Eberle and his wife, Mary, of Lanesville, Martin Eberle and his wife, Rebecca, of Starlight, and Jerome Eberle and his wife, Lois, of Greenville; mother-in-law, M. Ruth Brubeck, of Georgetown; and brother-in-law, Barrett L. Zahn, of Merida, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman H. and Katherine Andres Eberle, of Floyds Knobs.

He hosted his friends and family at a gathering prior to his death in lieu of funeral home visitation.

Generations Funeral Home, New Albany, is in charge of the arrangements.
