Viola ‘Ruth’ Meyer, 86; of New Albany

Funeral services for Viola “Ruth” Meyer, 86, of New Albany, will be at noon Saturday, July 12, at the Kraft Funeral Services, Spring Street Chapel, with burial in Bethel Cemetery. She died Wednesday, June 9, 2008, at Lincoln Hills Healthcare, New Albany.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the VFW Post 1693 Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the Bethel Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Wade and husband, Herbert, Elizabeth and Mary Lynn Seewer and husband, Doug, New Albany; a sister, Lorrene Boyd, New Albany; a brother, Ray Stroud, New Albany; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her pet companion, Roxy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Meyer; sons, Donald Pierce and Frankie Meyer; and grandson, Frankie Pierce.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, July 11 and after 10 a.m. Saturday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bethel Cemetery Association.
