Gene Rhea, 70; of New Albany
Funeral services for Gene Rhea, 70, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, in the Paul F. Kraft Sr. Chapel at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, with entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services with his family by his side.
He was a retired printer and owned G&S Printing Co. in New Albany. He was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Fisherville, Ky., to the late James W. and Mary Alice Brock Rhea.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Clara S. “Sue” Byrd Rhea, of New Albany; son, Jim Rhea and his wife, Dee and daughter, Connie Johnson and her husband, Richert, all of of New Albany; sister, Diana Davenport, of Louisville; brother, Billy Rhea and his wife, Gena, of Panama City, Fla.; granddaughter, Erika Johnson and grandson, Tyler Rhea.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Joann Norris, LaFon Mayo and Jimmie Tenuta and his brother, Ricky Rhea.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the National Kidney Foundation in his memory.
