Carolyn ‘Nanny’ Russell Green, of Louisville, formerly of New Albany
Funeral services for Carolyn “Nanny” Russell Green of Louisville, formerly of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1057 South 28th St., Louisville, with interment in Louisville Cemetery. She died Sunday, July 13, 2008.
She was a native of New Albany, and a former seamstress for the Barbour Brothers for more than 40 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanette Green Hobbs and her husband, Robert, and Sandra Exum; special granddaughter, Ramada Green; sons, William Richard Green Jr., Charles Green and Alvin Green; brothers, Harold Russell and his wife, Josephine, and Ivan Russell and his wife, Linda; sisters, Judy Wadlington and her husband, Thomas, Freda Tarrant, Lavenia White and her husband, David, Janice Canedo and her husband, Joe, and Gina Slaughter and her husband, Dale; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends; and caregivers, Jeanette and Ramada, who cared for her with the help of Hosparus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Georgia Russell, and a daughter, Annetta Russell Whitney.
Visitation will be at the church from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 17, and from 10 a.m. until time of service, Friday.
