Ernest R. ‘Pistol Pete’ Hitner, 82; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Ernest R. “Pistol Pete” Hitner, 82, of Georgetown, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home, Georgetown, with burial in Wolfe Cemetery. He died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his home.
He was born in Rush Springs, Okla. on Sept. 21, 1925, the son of William Howard and Anna Himes Hitner. He was the assistant manager of Louisville Grain Inspection Service, was a member of Georgetown Christian Church and was a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, the former Iona F. Martin.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 18, and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Georgetown Ball Park.
