George Richard Young, 73; of Pleasureville, Ky.

Funeral services for George Richard Young, 73, of Pleasureville, Ky., will be at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Ky., with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. He died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.

He was a member of Crossroad Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Eminence, Ky. and was retired from Ohio Valley Aluminum with more than 40 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Catherine Young; children, Georgia Ann Young, Jeffersonville, Diana Murphy, Mt. Eden, Ky., Delsie Worley, Bagdad, Ky., Johnny Young, Shelbyville, Ky., Ricky Young, Mt. Eden, Ky., David Cook, Louisville, Shirley Smitha, Mt. Eden Ky., Ronnie Cook, Bagdad, Ky., Gary Cook, Jeffersontown, Ky., Bo Cook, Mt. Eden, Ky. and Mike Cook, Mt. Eden Ky.; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Young, Jeffersonville; and sisters, Evelyn Ballard, Nancy Hall and Irene Crum, all of Jeffersonville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Tinsley.

Visitation at the funeral home was from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18.
