Floyd Allen Tibbs, 72; of Jeffersontown
Funeral services for Floyd Allen Tibbs, 72, of Jeffersontown, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Foreman’s, 10600 Taylorsville Road, Jeffersontown, Ky., with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008.

He was born Aug. 1, 1936, to Floyd and Doris Tibbs of Jeffersonville. He retired from General Electric, was a Kentucky Colonel and attended the First Baptist Church of Middletown.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Gayhart Tibbs; step-daughter, Courtney Wilson; brothers, Ernest Tibbs and wife, Carol, and Stanley Tibbs and wife, Rita; a sister, Shirley Lentz and husband, Vernon; mother-in-law, Bonnie Gayhart; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Boston terrier, Oscar Huggems.

Visitation at the funeral home will be prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church of Middletown, church building fund or the Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky.
