Evelyn Dakins McMillen, 95; Jeffersonville

Funeral services for Evelyn Dakins McMillen, 95, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at First Christian Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

She was born in Muncie, was a homemaker and a lifelong member of First Christian Church. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 104 in Muncie and volunteered at Clark Memorial Hospital for 20 years, as well as the Little Angel Shop.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane McMillen, Jeffersonville and Donna Jean Young and her husband Harvey, Jeffersonville; a son, William Eugene “Bill” McMillen and his wife, Brenda, Atlanta; five grandchildren, Shannon Geddes and her husband, Brad, Raleigh, N.C., April Young, Jeffersonville, Mike Young and his wife, Cathy, Jeffersonville, Julie Stout, Jeffersontown, Ky.; and Brenda Stout, Jeffersonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William David McMillen; and a daughter, Sharon Simpson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 to 11 at the church.
