Earl W. ‘Fergie’ Ferguson Jr., 73; formerly of New Albany
Earl W. “Fergie” Ferguson Jr., 73, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, in Dade City, Fla.
He was a native of New Albany and a retired firefighter with the New Albany Fire Department. He had resided in Daytona Beach, Fla., since 1995. He loved the beach, which is where he spent every day. His ashes will be respectfully released into the ocean in Daytona Beach, Fla., as he wished.
Survivors include his son, Brent Ferguson, New Albany; daughter, Shannon Gobel and husband, David, Dade City, Fla.; sister, Imogene “Sug” Murphy, New Albany; niece, Sherry Duff and great-niece, Kimberly Dawn, both of New Albany; aunt, Rita Henson, New Albany; former wife, friend and caregiver, Ida Mae Ferguson, Dade City, Fla.; granddaughter, Ashley Ferguson, of Corydon; grandsons, Matthew Ferguson, Corydon, Dylan and Drew Gobel, both of Dade City, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Lilly Ann Ferguson-Nugent, Corydon.
