Funeral services for Margaret Ann Baker, 90, Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery. She died Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

She was born March 16, 1924 in Scottsburg, the daughter of the late Howard and Maude Cravens Craig. She retired from Independence Insurance Company after 35 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a 56 year active member of the First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Baker Hendricks and her husband, Larry, Jeffersonville; granddaughter, Leslie Hendricks Schneider and her husband, Sean, Jeffersonville; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delton, brothers, Morris, Mort, Jim, Mack, Hubert, Floyd and Bob, and sister, Cleona (Craig) Surber.

 Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10  to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian. She exemplified kindness, gentleness, sweetness, love, courage, tenacity and emotional strength. She was the epitome of the perfect mother.

Her family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the countless hours and extraordinary care Dr. Mary Barry devoted to her and her many health crises throughout the past 25 years. She leaves an inspiring legacy: Timothy 4:7: I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Also, thank you to her special friends, Carolyn Ferber, an angel who brightened her days, Delores Kolter, who always provided support and encouragement, and her exceptional and loving caregivers, Dora Fischer and Doris Tucker.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville,  or the American Heart Association.

 Envelopes will be available at the service.
