Funeral Mass for Claire McNulty Kahl, 94, of Louisville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road, Louisville. She died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Twinbrook Nursing Home.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a retired nurse, having trained at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. She cherished her Irish heritage, was an avid University of Kentucky fan and loved travailing around the world with her late husband, Howie Kahl.
She is survived by two daughters, Pat Elder and her husband, Larry, of Jeffersonville, and Carol “Sissy” Kamer and her husband, Marty, of Villa Hills, Ky.; two sons, Howard J. “Bucky” Kahl and his wife, Sara, of Greenville, Ga. and John Kahl and his wife, Tina, of Louisville; a brother, Tommy McNulty, of New Jersey; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years Howie Kahl; six brothers, John, Joe, Gene, Paul, Jimmy and Donnie McNulty and two sisters, Elizabeth White and Mary Hoffman.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, Louisville.
