Patricia Collins “Patsy” Murphy

83; of San Antonio

— A funeral liturgy for  Patricia Collins “Patsy” Murphy, 83, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, New Albany. She died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, in San Antonio.

 Patsy was born in Waco, Texas. As a child, she moved with her family to San Antonio, where she lived until the age of 20. Patsy was the widow of Coach Pete Murphy who died in 1986. She was a life-long wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who raised eight children. Patsy and Pete lived in New Albany until the family moved to San Antonio in 1970. Pete was the head basketball coach and athletic director at Trinity University until his death. Patsy was a devout Catholic. She will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends in both Texas and Indiana.

Surviving children include Sharol Kraft, Robert Murphy, Kathi Burton and her husband Roger, Daniel Murphy and his wife Sheryl, Regina Britt and her husband Donnie, Carol Holub and her husband Mike, Maureen Chambers and her husband John and Mark Murphy and his wife Becka, all of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren, Lauren, Kayley, James, Cody, Kelli, Kayci, Sean, Allison, Ashley, Paige, Jordan, Karen Ella, Kyle and Carson; one great-grandchild, Ryleigh; and sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Murphy [widow of Gene “Spider” Murphy] and Pat Murphy [widow of John Murphy].

San Antonio reception of family and friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, with a prayer service at 3 p.m. at the Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop, 1604 East, San Antonio. A New Albany reception of family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St.,  New Albany.
