Funeral services for Barbara Parker Dierking, 69, of Clarksville, will be at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville. She died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Lincoln Hill Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Fern Creek, Ky. to William Parker Sr. and Zelma St. Clair, who both preceded her in death.
She was loved by all who knew her, and was an inspiration to many during her long illness. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren, arts and crafts, outings with her sisters, entertaining family and friends, and teaching Sunday school at New Hope Baptist Church where she was a member. Her passions were the Lord, and her family, who will always remember her unfailing love, strength, loyalty and generosity. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her loving family of two sons, Brent H. Dierking and his wife, Sharon, of Birmingham, Ala., and Kerry L. Dierking and his wife, Jennifer, of Mobile, Ala.; five sisters, Marjorie Whitlow and her husband, Orville, Maureen Casey, Carol Longwell, Brenda Cobb and her husband, Jeff, and Theresa Houston and her husband, Frank; two brothers, Robert Parker and his wife, Virginia, and Danny Parker and his wife, Wanda; sister-in-law, Mary Parker; six grandchildren, Blake Dierking and his wife, Emilee, Preston Dierking, Carlie Dierking, Casey Dierking and his wife, Beth, Max Dierking and Grant Dierking; one great-grandchild, Mollee Jean Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, William Parker Jr., Doyle Parker, and Bill Parker, a sister-in-law, Edna Parker and brother-in-law, Herb Casey.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church in her memory.
The family wished to express appreciation of thanks to the staff of Lincoln Hills Nursing Home for the extreme kindness shown to their mother during her illness.
