Dolores Iola Hobbs, 77; New Albany


— Funeral services for Dolores Iola Hobbs, 77, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

She died Jan. 4, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was born June 20, 1936, to the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Russell) Smyser. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore W. Hobbs and brother, George S. Marshall. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she taught preschool and an active resident at Mark Elrod Tower.

Survivors include her children Maria E. Hobbs, Denise L. Scrivner (Jonathan), Dion Hobbs (Joy), Diane Hobbs-Campbell (Tim), grandchildren Vincent Alimo, Savannah and Sierra Scrivner, Micah, Keziah, Preston, and Kenton Hobbs, William Hobbs, Thomas Jones, Terri Jackson, and Larry and Harry Mask; sister Darlene L. Smith; 15 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church.
