Mary Hammer Hublar, 93; New Albany

— Funeral Mass for Mary Hammer Hublar, 93, New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.

She was born Dec. 9, 1920 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Herman and Estelle Fenwick Hammer. She was a 1938 graduate of New Albany High School, 1939 graduate of Bryant & Shelton Business College and worked as a paralegal during the war for John Cody. Mary was a former member of Holy Trinity and current member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She served on the Deanery Board of Providence High School, Holy Trinity's Board of Education and was an officer of both Holy Trinity and St. Mary's Altar Societies.

Survivors include children, Robert Hublar and his wife, Denise, Mary Pat Hoessle and her husband, William, Michael Hublar and his wife, Karen, Carol Hublar, and Nancy Hublar; grandchildren, Beth Bumpass and her husband, Quincy, Melissa Hublar, Eric Hublar, Allison Hublar, and Amy Karch and her husband, Ken; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie T. Hublar, sisters, Lucille “Sis” Schindler and Martha Hammer; and brothers, Herman “Bud”, Gene and Barney Hammer.

Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
