Barbara Sue (Short) Wolford

75; Clarksville

Funeral services for Barbara Sue (Short) Wolford, 75, Clarksville, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial to follow at Milltown Cemetery, Milltown. She died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Barbara was a member of the American Legion post #28 and loved her career as a nurse by dedicating her life taking care of others while being the director of nursing at Wedgewood Manner and St. Matthew’s Manner Nursing Homes. 

She was born on March 7, 1938, in Harlan County, Ky., to the late David and Lora (Stewart) Short.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Jesse Almon Wolford; daughters, Denise Lynn Wolford and Pamela Kaye John; brothers, Charles Short (Barb) and Ronald Short (Diane); sisters, Patsy Harmon and Billie Bailey and husband Eric; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. 

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Owen Scott Short; and brother, David Short. 

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
