— A funeral Mass for Matilda ‘Tillie’ Kruer Fink, 79, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at St. Joe Catholic Church, Sellersburg, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

She was a life long member of St. Joe Hill Catholic Church in Sellersburg, as well as a member of the Ladies Club. She was known in the area for her great sewing skills and undying wit and humor. She worked as a seamstress for 30 plus years at the old Seinshimer’s in New Albany and at Neimaier’s until the business closed. Once the business closed, she began sewing out of her home. She worked hard everyday to be able to save money to take her grandchildren out West and to Disney World in her ‘Tillie’s Dream Machine.’ Her big heart and giving hands were unrivaled.

She will be dearly missed by her sister, Alberta Zipp and her husband, Charlie;  brother, Ralph Kruer and his wife, Diana; her sons, Earl Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, and Michael and his wife, Becky; grandchildren, Heather, Abigail, John, Clayton, Carolyn, Tyler, and Christina; and four great-grandchildren, Eli, Madelynn, Gracelynn, and Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Sr. and brother, Norb Kirchgessner.

The family is forever grateful to Lexie and Amanda for their love and assistance they gave to Tillie during her last few months.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Alzheimers Assn. or to the church.
