Lanny E. Middleton, 71; of New Albany

— Funeral services for Lanny E. Middleton, 71, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany. He passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2013.

He was born May 31, 1941, to George and Hazel Middleton. He was in the Indiana National Guard and later became a member of the American Legion. He coached for the New Albany Little League throughout the 70s and retired from Brown Forman. He and his wife opened a craft shop, Middy’s Saw n Sew and did craft shows for many years. It was one of his greatest joys to make toys for his grandchildren. He was a member of Scottsville Christian Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Phyllis Moon Middleton; two sons, Trent and his wife, Lynn, and Darryl and his wife, Marcy; and a daughter, Tamara; five grandchildren, Amanda Cravens and her husband, Justin, Ashley Bullington and her husband, Josh, Isaac, Cheyenne and Dakota; and four great grandchildren, Lydia, Kai, Jayden and Hadley.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
