Edward “Pappy” Stewart Jr., 74; Marysville

Funeral services for Edward “Pappy” Stewart Jr., 74, Marysville, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. He died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at his home. 

Mr. Stewart was born Nov. 19, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Edward and Martha Ann Clark Stewart Sr. He was a retired press operator for Nibco in Louisville. Edward was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 335, Charlestown, an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a former Charlestown Little League baseball and football coach. 

Survivors include his daughters, Linda Mills and her husband, Tony, Jeffersonville, and Erika A. Pace and her husband, Jeff, of Marysville; sons, Edward Stewart III and his wife, Rita, of Jeffersonville and Richard T. Stewart and his wife, Patty, of Henryville; 12 grandchildren, Jennie, Jessica, Sam, Tom, Tony Jr., Sean, Heather, Dakotah, Kaylee, Stephen, Elizabeth and Aniyah; seven great-grandchildren, Ciara, Lincoln, Gavin, McKenna, Ashlyn, Brady and Caydence; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Erika H. Stewart on May 10, 1997; a sister, Jan Duncan; and a brother, David Stewart. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Charlestown Little League Football Program.
