61; of New Albany

— Funeral services for Mary Sue Minton, 61, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with cremation to follow. Private interment will be held at a later date in Barbourville, Ky. She died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at her residence.

 She was born in Paducah, Ky. to the late David R. and Hattie B. Siler Minton and was a graduate of New Albany High School. She loved music, singing, playing the guitar but most of all she loved people and animals of all kind. She was the mainstay at Kaiser’s Tobacco Store for more than 20 plus years meeting and treating everyone she met with kindness and care. She will be greatly missed by the entire community that she loved so much. She was a member of Hobart Beach V.F.W. Post 1693.  

Survivors include a brother, David Scott Minton and wife, Margaret, of    Frederick, Md.; niece, Maile Minton, of Culpeper, Va.; a nephew, Daniel Minton, of Chesterfield, Va.; great nieces and nephews, Faith, Calli, Grace, Nathaniel, and Lily; special friend, Floyd Schroeder, of New Albany; and great aunt, Jane Blair, of Barbourville, Ky.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. V.F.W. memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.        

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Floyd County Animal Shelter and Humane Society.
