Kenneth ‘Bab’ Watkins

90; of New Albany

Funeral services celebrating the life of Kenneth ‘Bab’ Watkins, 90, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Autumn Woods Health Campus.

 He was a native of Clarkson, Ky., and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was the retired Assistant Chief of Police, the Circuit Court Baliff under Judge Henry Leist for 16 years and was a New Albany Firefighter. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley 32nd degree of Evansville, the Shrine Club, the Jefferson Masonic Lodge 104, the Lee Deich FOP Lodge, the Hobart Beach Post 1693 and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Charlotte Dever and her husband, Alan, and Natalie Hudgins; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Money, Kasey Dever, Kolton Dever and Cody Hudgins; two great-great-grandchildren, Landon Langdon and Layla Money; his sister, Marie Rainbolt; and several nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia C. Watkins, his parents, Isaiah and Donna Watkins, seven brothers, Everett, Todd, Alex, Willard, Eli, Gene and Tapley Watkins, and three sisters, Alene Gunn, Shirley Endris and Lena Bruner.

 Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, New Albany.
