Gwendolyn Sue Hardy, 59; of Sellersburg

— Funeral services for Gwendolyn Sue Hardy, 59, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Sellersburg Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, in Plainfield.

She was a retired school teacher with West Clark Community School Corporation where she served for 36 years, a member at Speed Memorial Church in Sellersburg, and a 1971 graduate of Silver Creek High School. She received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Ball State in 1975. She was an avid bridge player and served as council member for her church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt and sister. Her zest for life was shared with all she knew. 

Survivors include her father, William E. Bedell, of Sellersburg; son, Carl William Hardy, of Sellersburg; son-in-law, David Jay Margason, of Plainfield; daughter, Brook Hardy Margason, of Plainfield, and Bryn Sue Hardy, of Sellersburg; and grandchildren, Sydney Hardy, Carlin Margason and Carl Hardy; sisters, Barbara Adams and her husband, Dennis, and Amy McIntyre and her husband, Brad. She is also survived by C. Brent Hardy; nephews and nieces, Troy Adams, Lana McIntyre, Brett McIntyre and Kelly Adams; friend, Debbie Prince; two great-nephews; and many friends, neighbors and cousins who helped her in her battle against cancer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
