Frieda Potzler Klein

97; of New Albany

Funeral Mass for Frieda Potzler Klein, 97, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Mercy Providence Retirement Home.

 She was employed for many years at a job she loved at Providence Retirement Home. She was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church and also served many years as both an officer and a member of the church’s Legion of Mary Society. Her favorite hobbies were reading, needlepoint and playing cards where she made many lifelong friends. She was born Oct. 9, 1915, in Clark County to the late Emil and Barbara Kraemer Potzler.

She is survived by her children, Janice Klein, of Indianapolis, Angela Nolan and her husband, Ronald, and Vincent Klein Jr, and his wife, Mary, both of New Albany; grandchildren, Matthew Nolan and his wife, Rachel, Nicholas Nolan  and his wife, Kelly, Emily D’Souza and her husband, Katan, Michael Klein, and Gregg Nolan and fiancé, Megan Fairfield. She was always very excited to see her three great-grandchildren, Natalie Nolan, Samuel Nolan and Maya D’Souza.

 In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Klein Sr., sisters, Catherine Brian, Laverne Forree and Mary Lou Potzler, and her brothers, Urban, Leonard and Walter Potzler.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with a Rosary prayer service at 3 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 10  to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church.
