Archie ‘A. J.’ Williams, 88; New Salisbury

— Funeral services for Archie “A. J.” Williams, 88, New Salisbury, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Corydon, with burial in El Bethel Cemetery, Milltown. He died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1926 in Magnolia, the son of late Archie and Nellie Dillman Williams. He was a graduate of Indiana University with a Master of Science Plus 30 hours and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired math teacher of Greater Clark County Schools and a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and he was a member of Mansfield Methodist Church, Leavenworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gerald and Warren “Bud” Williams, and a sister, June B. Williams Tower.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Levell Williams; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to either Hosparus of Southern Indiana or to Lincoln Hills Christian Church.
