Joyce A. Cruse Geltmaker Sorrels, 69; of Floyds Knobs


— Funeral services for Joyce A. Cruse Geltmaker Sorrels, 69, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany, with burial in Galena Cemetery. Always strong in her faith and close to our Lord, she passed on to her heavenly home on Friday, March 29, at Lincoln Hills Health Center. 

She was a native of Louisville and a retired seamstress for the old H.A. Seisenheimer Co. She later retired as an in-school suspension coordinator for Floyd Central High School. She was also a member of Faith Harvest Assembly Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Tamara S. Geltmaker Renn and her husband, Neal, of Floyds Knobs; two sons, Timothy W. Geltmaker, of Georgetown, and William A. Geltmaker and his wife, Cryl, of Floyds Knobs; six grandchildren, Chad Renn, Jesse Renn, Ciera Geltmaker, Ashley Geltmaker, William Gober and Seth Geltmaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willaim Geltmaker; brothers, Earl and Harold Cruse; sisters, Lucille Kessinger Hall and Rita Neal.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
