Stephen R. Very, 64; of Jeffersonville

— Funeral services for Stephen R. Very, 64, of Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at his home with his wife by his side.  

He was born Jan. 17, 1949, in New Albany, to the late Frank and Naomi Bline Very. He served in the United State Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked for 13 years at Hoosier Panel Company and later worked for the New Albany-Floyd County School Corp.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Charlotte Ross Very; a sister, Pearl Kannaple; a brother, Frank Very and his wife Jen; three brothers-in-law, Alfred Ross and his wife Frances “Sissie”, Ralph Ross and his wife Carolyn and Ronnie Ross and his wife Debbie; three sisters-in-law, Patty Blessett, Janice Ross and Dianne Very; and several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Very; a brother, Charles Very; three brothers-in-law, Wilbur Kannaple, Charles Ross Jr. and Lanny Ross; and his mother-in-law, Hattie Burns Ross.

 Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 The family would like to thank the V.A. Health Care and Vista Care Hospice for all of their support during such a difficult time.
