Hildreth I. Stamper

80; of New Salisbury

— Funeral services for Hildreth I. Stamper, 80, of New Salisbury, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home, Corydon, with burial in Fort Knox Post Cemetery. She died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at her home.

 She was born June 23, 1932, in New Albany, to the late Cecil and Alma Stevens Plaiss. She was a former employee of Keller Manufacturing Company in Corydon and M. Fine and Sons Shirt Factory in New Albany and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.

Survivors include her sons, Frank R. Stamper and James William Stamper, of Leavenworth; her daughter, Linda S. Schmidt, of Milltown; her brothers, Robert Plaiss, of Georgetown, and Ralph Plaiss, of Edwardsville; her sisters, Georgia Hughes, of Corydon and Dora Mitchell, of New Albany; her grandchildren, Kimberly Wiseman, Jeffery Schmidt, Jennifer Morris, and Frank II, John, Amanda, Max, Benjamin and Grace Stamper; and her great-grandchildren, Landen and Alton Wiseman, Jacob, Coby and Hailey Morris, Caitlin Schmidt and Frank Stamper III.

She was preceded in death by her husband, SSGT Frank R. Stamper, her brother, William Plaiss and her sisters, Francis Pickard and Rosalea Volz.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
