David W. Reynolds, 69; of New Washington

Funeral services for David W. Reynolds, 69, of New Washington, were held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 24, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with cremation following, according to Dave’s wishes. He died in his sleep Friday, June 21, 2013.

He was born on March 7, 1944, in New Albany, and grew up on his family’s farm in Floyds Knobs.  He was a 1962 graduate of Providence High School. He was a private contractor, carpenter and master woodworker for most of his life. He had a great passion for farming and spent the last several years in retirement growing fruits and vegetables.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 15 years, Janet Boyer; stepfather, Jerome Hentrup; children, Denise Kuenzer and her husband, John, and Joe Reynolds and her husband, Barbara; stepchildren, Kendra Hirons and her husband, Brian, and Chad Jackson and his wife, Crystal; siblings, Jerome Hentrup, Peggy Grainger, Janet Hentrup, Rita Burns, and Lisa Hentrup; grandchildren, Chris, Nick, and Maria Kuenzer, Rebecca, William, Anna Kate, and Elizabeth Reynolds, Austin Hirons, and Charles and Chesney Jackson. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Kaelin Hentrup; and wife of 31 years, Marilyn Rose Book Reynolds. 

Visitation was Monday, June 24, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
