Frank Shane Wayne Davidson

34; Charlestown

Funeral services for Frank Shane Wayne Davidson, 34, Charlestown, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Edwardsville United Methodist Church, Georgetown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

He was born April 5, 1979, to Johnny Wayne and Janet Marie (Cissell) Davidson in Clark County. He was a former DJ and promotions director for WDJX radio, a substitute teacher for Greater Clark County Schools, and a sound producer for Tin Roof Productions of Louisville. He was a member of the Edwardsville United Methodist Church, Georgetown, member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226, a community volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and attended several mission trips. He also was the former announcer for the Pirates and Lady Pirates basketball teams, a band volunteer for several years for Charlestown and Jeffersonville high schools. He was the founder of the Pike Charter of IUS Alumni, and he appeared in numerous local plays and in the movie “Country Strong.”

Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Janet Davidson, Charlestown; grandparents, Frank and Thelma Jo Davidson, Charlestown; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William E. Cissell Sr.; grandmother, Lorene Myers; and a brother, Troy Lee Davidson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
