Donald J. Moser Sr., 79; Winter Haven, Fla.


— A memorial Mass for Donald J. Moser Sr., 79, Winter Haven, Fla., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Mary’s Church, New Albany. There will be a “Celebration of Life” immediately following the mass at the River City Winery in New Albany. A memorial service at Four Lakes will be held at a later date. Surrounded by his family when he went to be with God on Sept. 8, 2013 as a result of congestive heart failure.

 He was born May 31,1934 in New Albany, graduated New Albany High School in 1952, and earned his Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1956. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winter Haven, Fla. and St. Mary’s Church in New Albany. He was also a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. Before retiring to Florida, he was Vice President at The George Moser Leather Company in New Albany.

 He is survived by his wife, Patricia Moser and his eight children, Donald Moser Jr. and his wife, Kim, Margaret Vance, Lisa Moser and her husband, Kimmie, Karl Moser Sr. and his wife, Teresa, Julie Fifer and her husband, Jef, Jamie Gilbert, Brad Moser and his wife, Natalie, and Ariana D’Amura and her husband, Mike; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Margaret Moser, wife, Joyce Motley, wife, Jo Hampton and son, David;

His passions included his Alma Mater, University of Notre Dame, his friends and family, golfing, hunting, fishing and daily prayers for all those in need. He was a true follower of Christ in all aspects of life. Always ready with a smile, he never met anyone he didn’t like as he loved all God’s children and lived his life at the foot of the cross.
