Kenneth Steward, 87; Clarksville


Funeral services for Kenneth Steward, 87, Clarksville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at E.M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center, Louisville,. He was a native of Utica, and was an Army Veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 35, Jeffersonville and he retired from A&P as a journeyman meat cutter. 

He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Haire and husband, Brent, Jeffersonville, and Patricia Haag and husband, David, Memphis; six grandchildren, Travis Haire, Scott Haire, Elizabeth Wright, David Haag II, Ryan Haag, and Kristy Hamilton; six great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Steward; father; William Taylor Steward; and mother, Inez Steward. 

 Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice at the VA Hospital, Louisville.
