Funeral services for Floyd R. Stone Sr., 86, Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Legacy Funeral Center, Jeffersonville, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013.
He attended Rose-Hulman Institute and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a retired engineer for Caldwell Tanks and then was an estimator for Kentuckiana Dry Wall.
He is survived by his three children, Sherry Stone, Indianapolis, Floyd “Robbie” Stone Jr., Seymour, and Melody Newton, Corydon; two siblings, Ruth Hadley, Evansville, and Kenneth Stone, Indianapolis; close friend, Patricia Whittinghill; four grandchildren, Joshua Esq., Gretchen, Emma and Stacey; two stepchildren, Sandra Brock and Jim Willis; 10 step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Stone; parents, Charles and Bertha Stone; brother, Orville Stone; and stepson, Gary Willis.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
