John A. ‘Jack’ Oberhausen, 98; New Albany

— Funeral services for John A. “Jack” Oberhausen, 98, New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Providence Retirement Home.

He was retired from the Ford Motor Company, Louisville. He was born on the same day the Belle of Louisville was launched and was an avid Bowler at Hoosier Strike and Spare and woodworker. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.

Survivors include nephew/caretaker/buddy, Jim Hudson; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Pruitt; nephews, Richard Gibson, Alfred E. Meyer and his wife, Dawn, Jack Beanblossom, and Ron Leaf and his wife, Nancy; nieces, Vicki D’Aurora and her husband, Joe, Rebecca Robison, Linda Bates and her husband, Claude, Sandy Sanders and her husband, Jerry, Brenda Zumbro, Almeda Zink and her husband, Ron, and Peggy Lefler.

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Iona Maxine Oberhausen, brother, Frank Oberhausen, sisters,  Barbara Beanblossom, Frances Leaf and Katherine Veech, and niece, Phyllis Hudson.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after noon Friday, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Floyd County Humane Society.
