A funeral service for Annetta Aileen (Rockey) Sutton, 84, Sellersburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home, Borden, with burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Borden. She died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
Born Feb. 25, 1929, she was the daughter of Leroy Rockey and Mary Goldie (Monroe). On Dec. 31, 1983, she married James A. Sutton.
She was retired from the Charlestown Ammunition Plant. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Sellersburg. She was a past Matron and past Grand Representative of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 588, Borden. She was a member of the Pynthian Sister, Amaranth-Alice Court No. 30 in Columbus, Ind., Order of the White Shrine, New Albany, and Apet Shrine Guild, Clarksville.
James and Annetta belonged to a camping club they went travelling with. Annetta enjoyed cooking for family and friends, crocheting, quilting and playing Bunco every month. She would help people all the time, no matter what the circumstances were. She lived life to the fullest.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Kay Lee, Sellersburg, and Teresa Lee, Jeffersonville; a brother, Hubert R. Rockey, Clarksville; a sister, Shelia Rockey, Jeffersonville; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, one sister and one daughter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday. There will be an Eastern Star service Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
