Bernice Lee Smith, 91; Seymour


— Bernice Lee Smith, 91, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Seymour Crossing in Seymour.

She was born in Carrollton, MS, and was a very active member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church where she served as deaconess. She formerly volunteered at Floyd Memorial Hospital, loved to garden and had a passion for cooking. She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman “Barney” Smith; two sisters, Dorothy Weeks and Patricia Chatham; and a brother, Jack Lee.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma “Nonnie” Thompson (David); her son, Michael Smith (Patricia); a brother, J.W. Lee Jr.; and a sister, Mary Joyce Stevens. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Brad Thompson (Brandi); Matt Thompson (Kara); Drew Thompson (Jen); Michelle Crawford (Brian); Carrie Rosati; and Ben Smith (Keawe); and 11 great grandchildren.
